FIELD: pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing coptisin from the ground part of plant celandine (Chelidonium majus L.). Method involves multistep extraction with chloroorganic solvent in alkaline medium, reextraction with sulfuric acid an aqueous solution followed by feeding an aqueous phase to filtration, washing and drying the end product. Chloroform is used as a solvent and extraction is carried out by 12 steps (each step - 20 min) at stirring and at ratio herb mass and solvent volume solid : liquid = 1: 10. For reextraction 1/2 reaction volume of solvent from each step is fed at ratio of an aqueous and organic phase volumes = 1:1.5 and reextraction is carried out for 15 min at intensive stirring. After coptisin crystals filtration mother liquor is recovered to reextraction stage and ratio of phases solid : liquid = 1:10 is maintained at extraction stage by recovery of organic phase from reextraction stage.
