FIELD: processing of petroleum, petrochemistry, particularly methods for production of mixture of gaseous hydrocarbons with predomination of olefin hydrocarbons of C2 - C4 fraction which may be used for production of corresponding polymers and other products of petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: proposed catalyst on the base of anhydrous barium chloride comprises, mass %: C2 - C4, 67,2; SiO2, 18.7; Al2O3, 0.34; Na2O, 11.94; ratio of anhydrous barium chloride and aluminosilicate clay being (55-70):(45-30) mass %. Production of gaseous olefins by pyrolysis of benzine in the presence of said catalyst at 700-750 C, volume rate of feeding of raw materials is 0.25-1.0 Fe2O3. Mixture of anhydrous barium chloride and aluminosilicate clay of claimed composition is used as said catalyst.
