FIELD: oil refining industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of oil refining, in particular to the processes of obtaining light gaseous olefins by catalytic pyrolysis of liquid hydrocarbon fractions. The claimed effect is achieved by using a catalyst, which is a ceramic cassette with the active component BaCI2 applied to it. A method for preparing a catalyst for processing hydrocarbons by pyrolysis is described, characterized in that in order to increase the yield of gaseous hydrocarbons C1-C4, catalytic pyrolysis of hydrocarbon fractions is carried out using a catalyst obtained by applying calcined BaCI2 in an amount of 15-28, wt. %, on an alumo-ceramic porous cassette and the process of catalytic pyrolysis is carried out at temperatures of 700-750°C and feed rates of 0.5-1.2 h-1.

EFFECT: achievement of high efficiency of conversion of hydrocarbon raw materials into gaseous products with a high yield of target olefin hydrocarbons using steam-free technology of the process.
