FIELD: cutting of hard carbide alloys. SUBSTANCE: plate to be cut is installed on tungsten plate. Electron beam is directed onto plate and spot of 1 mm in diameter is formed. Then, spot is moved across plate with velocity of 0.3-1 cm/s. In process of cutting the power of electron beam is maintained within 1 kW. EFFECT: provision of high- speed splitting of plate from hard carbide alloys, and preservation of strength properties of material in place of cutting due to nonuniform distribution of introduced power.
