FIELD: solid fuel processing. SUBSTANCE: fuel is dried, heated by solid heat carrier in reactor to produce gas-vapor mixture and coke-ash residue. The latter together with solid phase is directed into hearth of combustion station. Upon burning of mixture, gas-suspension is formed from which solid phase is separated to be returned into hearth and reactor, where ash is finally separated. According to invention, solid phase, prior to be fed into hearth, is cooled in heat exchanger to 600-250 C. Smoke fumes are withdrawn from gas-suspension, cooled and returned into drying process. Installation contains consecutively arranged drier 1; separator 2 to separate drying agent; thermal decomposition reactor 3; hearth 4; first separator 5 to separate solid phase with its discharge part connected to upper part of reactor; and second separator 6 to separate solid phase, gas phase outlet of which is connected to dryer. Installation additionally contains heat exchanger 8 with its inlet connected to solid phase outlet of any available or additionally installed solid phase separators and its discharge part connected to lower part of hearth.
