FIELD: corrosion protection. SUBSTANCE: method includes introducing into liquid medium an bactericide in required concentration preliminarily determined by laboratory investigation. The latter consists in electrochemical examination of biocorrosion suppression process in presence of different bactericide concentrations followed by calculating kinetic constants of this process from relationship I = I = Io•exp(-Kτn), where I is current value of current intensity, mcA; Io zero value of current intensity, mcA; τ current time of process advancement, h; K and n kinetic constants of biocorrosion suppression process, h-n. As efficient bactericide concentration, the one is stated with minimum value of K constant and maximum value of n constant. EFFECT: optimized bactericide usage. 2 tbl
