FIELD: oil pollution removal. SUBSTANCE: method consists in treating floating oil film with natural organic sorbent powder preliminarily subjected to heat treatment and cooling in closed state followed by mechanically removing oil floating conglomerate formed as result of selective adsorption. Such adsorbent, for instance, is carbonaceous mass prepared by carbonizing disintegrated and partially dried wood waste within temperature range 300-350 C in inert medium to carbonization degree 13-16%. EFFECT: reduced cost due to utilization of waste. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
