FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: individually lubricated end-face seal has housing internally accommodating rotary packing ring seated securely on the shaft, packing blocks disposed on both sides of the packing ring, face wall and face covers fixed on the housing. The shaft carries guard rings. Installed on the rotary packing ring are devices for feeding liquid lubricant from the lower part of the housing to the upper part of friction zone between the rotary packing ring and packing blocks. Two hollows formed by face covers, shaft and packing blocks communicate with a space formed by housing, face wall, rotary ring and packing blocks. The channels in the lower part ensure difference of pressure of the media being packed, which is equal to the height of column of lubricating and at the same time sealing liquid from upper level of liquid in the channels and in the mentioned space to the lower level of liquid in the channels.
