THRUST-RADIAL BEARING WITH INDIVIDUAL LUBRICATION Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2109180 C1

FIELD: thrust-radial bearings for shaft lines. SUBSTANCE: thrust-radial bearing body has hollow which consists of one central and one or two side hollows not communicating with central one in their lower parts. Each side hollow is separated from central one by radial bearing or seal. Lubricating fluid is supplied from side hollows to central hollow or is supplied by two devices provided with discs whose upper edges are located above the level of upper pads. These discs are located in one or both side hollows where volume between the level of disc lower edges and upper level of lubricating fluid is not smaller than the volume of central hollow filled during operation between upper level and level of upper pads. Lubricating fluid returns from central hollow to side hollows through pipes running from the bottom of central hollow to top of side hollow where free ends of pipes are installed at the level of upper pads. Filling of bearing central hollow with lubricating fluid during shaft rotation and immersion of all pads, in this case, into lubricating fluid make it possible to use for bearings with individual lubrication system, for instance, balancing one, equalizing the load between pads and, at sufficient cooling of lubricant in bearing, to ensure at individual lubrication the same load-bearing capacity and reliability within the wide range of application, in the way used in circulating lubrication. In this case, there is no need in circulating system with pumps, cooler of lubricating fluid and other required devices. Besides, seals in bearing may be simplified, for instance, of labyrinth type due to lowering of lubricating fluid level in side hollows during operation. EFFECT: improved reliability of bearings. 2 cl, 2 dwg
