Abstract RU 2089270 C1

FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to effluent gases from combustion of fuels containing and not containing ashes, in particular, carbon dust. Flying ashes are activated by rapidly heating fuel (more rapidly than 3000 C/s) to a temperature higher than 900 C which is below ash caking temperature establishing for ashes present in flame. Thereafter, effluent gas is cooled to a temperature above dew point of effluent gas by not more than 25 C if dwell time of ashes in flame is 0.8 s, and by not more than 11 C if 0.1 s. If dwell time lies within 0.1 and 0.8 s, cooling temperature is found by linear interpolation in the range of 11 to 25 C above effluent gas dew point. In another embodiment of invention, if ash-free fuel is burned, it is preliminarily supplemented with an active substance particles, e. g. those of limestone flour. Apparatus contains expanding muffle burner with attached to it narrowing nozzle for speeding up gas and air-supply means in the form of logarithmic spiral with air feed angle 6-12 deg. In back of the burner, fire tube 1400 mm in diameter and 3850 mm long or rectangular chamber with the same dimensions is installed. To provide maximum hearth power 3.9 MW, muffle burner has following dimensions: length 1470 mm, inlet diameter 338 mm, outlet diameter 700 mm, nozzle outlet diameter 350 mm, and axial length of logarithmic spiral 197 mm.
