FIELD: treatment of materials; applicable in mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: the offered method of treatment includes heating of treated materials with eddy currents. The device for embodiment of the offered method has induction heater with electrical heat resistant insulation and material collector. During treatment, treating device is inserted into hole and induction heater is energized. Treated material is heated and melted with eddy currents to a definite depth. As melted material is removed, treating device is moved further. In producing holes, treating device is moved from top downward along hole axis, and when through slots are made, treating device is moved along axis equidistant to hole axis.
