FIELD: production of high-purity materials.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of forming melting zones by heating charge material until temperature higher than its melting point with use of vortex electric currents induced by means of magnetic field; coolers arranged behind heaters provide solid phase portions. Near solidified interface of phases optimal conditions are created for diffusion of impurities. Apparatus for zone meting includes outer and inner containers supporting coolers, heat insulation and heaters for creating electromagnetic field inducing in charge eddy currents. Numbers of heaters and coolers are selected depending upon desired purification degree.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of process, high purification degree.
