FIELD: manufacture and cleaning of materials. SUBSTANCE: sections of zone melting are formed by heating of loaded material above melting temperature with use of eddy currents from inside of load. Favorable conditions are created for mixing of melted material by induced electromagnetic field and emerging mechanical forces due to heating of loading material from inside. Optimum conditions for diffusion of impurities are created near hardening surface of phase separation. Gear for implementation of process has container, inductors and coolers. Process is realized by movement of gear relative to load or by movement of load relative to immobile gear. Translation of sections of zone melting and of surfaces of phase separation takes place with translation of gear and load with reference to each other. Sections of impurities move to end of load or dissolve in basic material. EFFECT: expanded technological capabilities of zone melting, enhanced productivity, improved quality of mixing and homogeneity of liquid phase. 5 cl, 4 dwg
