FIELD: chemical technology applicable, mainly, for production of metallic aluminum from wastes of aluminum foil. SUBSTANCE: wastes of aluminum foil, for instance, in form of tape, is cut, charged in furnace channel and heated within the temperature range of 500-650 C, held at this temperature for 10-15 min in oxygen-free medium (inert, flue gases) for carbonization of organic component of material. Then, carbonizate is separated from foil, for instance, by shaking off to obtain desired product - metallic aluminum. Carbonization may also be conducted in melt of metals and salts. At temperature below 500 C, carbonization is slowed down that decreases desired product yield. EFFECT: provision of full recovery of aluminum from wastes.
