FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: slitting unit has tine with curved front edge and toe. Tine has supporting and cutting parts. Supporting part has irregular elongate octagon with two opposite longest surfaces having variable length through tine height and coincide with sides of tine. Cutting part is formed as blade with base defined by one side of two sides of octagon, which are perpendicular to longest surfaces. Other version has cutting part with two opposite blades having bases defined by sides of octagon, which are perpendicular to its longest sides. Tine may be repositioned through 180 deg. In both versions tine and blades are provided with common and additional surface thermal strengthening means. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced draft, improved wear resistance and reduced metal usage. 4 cl, 10 dwg
