FIELD: artificial insemination of farm animals, in particular, selection of sheep by marking with different dyeing compositions. SUBSTANCE: composition contains rosin as film former. Marking composition applied to animal wool is dusted to lesser extent, is retained for longer time and readily washed out during washing of wool. Dye is stored and used in aerosol package, which is convenient due to its high hermetical sealing properties and provision for applying thin layer of dye. EFFECT: increased convenience in usage by provision for applying thin uniform layer of dye, simplified composition and easy removal of composition from animal wool. 1 tbl
