FIELD: animal science, sheep selection. SUBSTANCE: method deals with selection work on improving sheep breeds at determining fractional composition of sheep wool suint grease. Wool extraction is performed in two stages in any sequence, firstly, by water, and then with nonpolar solvent, or vice versa. Moreover, out of obtained dry extract consisted of two fractions "sweat + diphyllic substances" or "fat + diphyllic substances" one should isolate diphyllic fraction by treating it with an alcohol. Evaluation of sheep wool suint grease is conducted by detecting in it the content of each three fractions as they are purely. EFFECT: higher objectivity of technological evaluation. 2 ex, 1 tbl
