FIELD: chemical, petrochemical and oil refining industries. SUBSTANCE: highly dispersed amorphous silica, aerosil or silica gel is mixed with seed crystal in amount of 2-50 % by volume in sodium aluminate solution and mother liquor in amount to maintain molar ratio of crystal forming components in the reaction mixture in terms of oxides: 2.4-3.0 Na2O: 1 Al2O3; 10-12 SiO2: 1 Al2O3; 250-300 H2O: 1 Al2O3. Hydrothermal treatment is carried out at 95-100 C, mother liquor is separated, and zeolite is washed and dried to obtain zeolite Y with modulus of 5.5-7.0 and crystallinity of 100 %. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
