FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of utilizing nonwoven material as underlayer for upholstering seats with fabric designed, for example, for public transport (automobile, railway or aircraft). This material is manufactured by dry process technique to have volume density between 20 and 100 kg/cu.m and thickness within 2-12 cm range. Material contains at least 50% of synthetic fibers 3-40 tex thick and 2-12 cm long. Fibers are mixed by needle. With static pressure 20 N/sq.cm applied, material keeps its minimum thickness 2 mm.
