METAL CYLINDRICAL STORAGE TANK Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: construction and operation of metal cylindrical storage tanks, for instance, for oil and oil products. SUBSTANCE: storage tank has bottom, cylindrical wall, guide column and pontoon roof with peripheral sealing. Roof is made in form of interconnected regular polygonal caissons, at least, one part of caissons is made in form of hexagons whose centers are located over circumference or concentric circumferences. Caissons located at cylindrical wall have segments of underseal ring with upper bearing surface inclined at angle of 25-45 deg towards cylindrical wall. Peripheral seal is made in form of hollow wedge-shaped in cross-section members installed for free sliding over upper bearing surface of underseal ring. In this case, at least, part of hollows of wedge-shaped members accommodate ends of tubes with diameter of, at least, 6 mm, and ends brought beyond the hollow have plug with recess. Tubes are installed with inclination of their upper part towards guide column at angle not in excess of 45 deg. Caissons are connected over perimeter of their adjacent side walls. EFFECT: higher efficiency of installation of metal storage tanks and provision of their operate reliability and prolonged service life. 3 cl, 3 dwg
