METAL CYLINDRICAL RESERVOIR Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: oil producing industry; construction and operation of metal cylindrical reservoirs for oil and oil products. SUBSTANCE: metal cylindrical reservoir has bottom, cylindrical wall, support upright and floating roof made in form of pontoons connected into polygons. Part of pontoons is made in form of octagons in plan, each octagon provided with upper and lower guard plates and - shaped wall limiting over perimeter the sealed space. Webs of wall are pointed inwards the space and project beyond the outline of plates by value half again the thickness of its upright. Pontoons are connected to each other by lower and upper cover plates in form of squares whose thickness is minimum half again the thickness of guard plates. Cover plates are provided with coaxial central holes through which support uprights are passed. Pontoons are connected to each other by lower and upper cover plate welded to webs of -shaped walls with clearance relative to upper and lower plates. EFFECT: improved efficiency in mounting of metal reservoirs, improved reliability and increased service life. 3 cl, 3 dwg
