METAL CYLINDRICAL RESERVOIR MOUNTING METHOD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: oil producing industry; storage of oil and oil products. SUBSTANCE: method comes to mounting of bottom plate, installation of support uprights, mounting of floating roof on bottom plate and erection of walls. Support uprights with support at base are installed on bottom plate in plan in tops of square and lower square support plates for pontoons with central hole for upright are welded to uprights. Square lower supports are preliminarily oriented by diagonals to sides of square of support upright installation. Then hermetically sealed octagonal pontoons are installed on support plates welding the lower support plates to support plates, and upper cover plates with central hole are fitted on uprights welding them to upright and over perimeter, to adjacent pontoons, to form space through which support upright passes. Pontoons with upper and lower guard plates and limited over perimeter by -shaped wall pointed with webs inwards the space and projecting beyond the outline of plates through value sufficient for mounting the pontoons on lower support plates secured to uprights are installed in place. Pontoons can be made with -shaped wall whose upright projects beyond the outline of upper and lower plates through values half again the thickness of upright of -shaped wall.
