FIELD: determination of quantitative content of components in complex hydrocarbon mixtures, for instance, fuel with use of near infrared radiation. SUBSTANCE: analysis in near infrared region is conducted to determine quantities of paraffins, isoparaffins, aromatic compounds and naphthens contained in their mixture. Analysis is chosen not less than one length of wave in characteristic absorption band of determined component in near infrared region, optical densities of mixture are measured on chosen lengths of waves. In the capacity of characteristic bands there are chosen region 1672-1698 nm and/or 1700-1726 nm for naphthens, region 1092-1156 nm and/or 824-884 nm and/or 1656-1962 nm for aromatic compounds, region 880-974 nm and/or 1152-1230 nm and/or 1320-1380 nm and/or 1470-1578 nm and/or 1614-1644 nm and/or 1746-1810 nm and/or 1940-2000 nm and/or 2058-2130 nm for paraffins and isoparaffins. In addition, olefins can be determined their characteristic band located in region 1622-1650 nm and/or 2064-2234 nm. EFFECT: high sensitivity of determination. 6 cl, 6 dwg, 3 tbl
