FIELD: prospecting and quantitative estimation of diamond-bearing kimberlite bodies. SUBSTANCE: method consists in sampling, separation of monofractions of magnesium-aluminium garnets, determination of the content of calcium and chromium in them, separation of diamond magnesium-aluminium garnets from them according to the content of CaO < 1,6 + 0,38 Cr₂O₃ at Cr₂O₃ > 5 mass percent and estimation of kimberlite body efficiency; the content of diamond magnesium - aluminium garnetsin kimberlite body is additionally determined as a product of the relation between the separated number of diamond-magnesium - aluminium garnets and the quantity of analyzed garnets by the total content of garnets in kimberlite body, and quantitative estimation of kimberlite body efficiency is accomplished by empirical formula.
