FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: air samples are taken from containment interior. Then gas mixture is passed through metering section of measurement piping and finally discharged. Gas concentration is reduced upstream of metering section in thinning unit; thinning gas is taken from source located outside containment. Prior to introducing thinning gas, its pressure is brought in coincidence with that inside containment. In case of accident, use is made of metering section designed for normal operation.
