METHOD OF ADAPTIVE CONVERSION OF POLARIZATION OF RADIO SIGNALS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2090963 C1

FIELD: radio communication, radiolocation and radio electronic suppression. SUBSTANCE: method includes reception of polarized radio signal, conversion of polarization of received radio signal with the aid of one or several controlled media with double refraction of beam positioned in succession and provision for possibility of control over differential phase shifts and/or orientations of planes of introduction of differential phase shifts into a priori chosen one corresponding to one of orthogonal components of orthogonal converter with selected polarization basis, amplification of signal with a priori chosen polarization in single-channel amplifier, formation of transmitted signal on frequency of received signal, its amplification, excitation by scalar signal of vector signal with polarization in a way coupled to a priori chosen polarization and provision for passage of this signal through one or several controlled media with double refraction identical to one mentioned above controlled in coordination with them and positioned in inverse sequence with which help conversion of polarization of this vector signal into polarization coupled in required way with polarization of received radio signal is carried out. In this case control over values of introduced differential phase shifts and/or orientations of planes of introduction of differential phase shifts to specified media is realized with use of two orthogonally polarized components of received radio signal, polarization of one of them being matched and of the other one is orthogonal polarization chosen a priori. EFFECT: higher accuracy of adaptive conversion within wide band of frequencies, specifically for orthogonalization or matching of polarization of emitted radio signals with respect to polarization of received radio signals. 20 cl, 1 dwg
