METHOD FOR POLARIZATION DIRECTION FINDING OF RADIO SIGNALS USING A TRI-ORTHOGONAL ANTENNA SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01S5/04

Abstract RU 2713866 C1

FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in systems for detection and direction finding of radio-frequency sources (RFS) under conditions of a priori uncertainty relative to polarization and spatial parameters of radio signals, noise and interference, when restrictions on overall dimensions of direction-finding antenna system are imposed. Method is based on CTOAS measurement of orthogonal components Ex1, EY1, Ez1 and Hx1, Hy1, Hz1 vectors of electric and magnetic fields intensity and at the moment of time t1, determining orientation of vectors and in space, constructing auxiliary planes ΩE and ΩH, determining azimuth θ and elevation angle β on RFS as angles of orientation of intersection line of auxiliary planes ΩE and ΩH.

EFFECT: reduction of direction finding time and provision of a wider field of application of the developed method based on use of a combined tri-orthogonal antenna system (CTOAS), consisting of three antenna elements in form of asymmetrical dipoles of pin-type and three frame antenna elements.
