FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: first and second track pickups 1 and 2 installed on control track section are connected to inputs of counting pulse shaper 3 whose third input is connected to synchronization unit 4. When wheel passes by first track pickup 1, positive pulse from first time transmitter 5 passes to inputs of first AND gate 7, third AND gate 9 and first counter 10. AND gate 7 turns into conducting state and zero potential from its output passes to data input of first flip-flop 14. When wheel passes by second track pickup 2, positive pulse from output of second time transmitter 6 passes to second input of AND gate 9 and to input of second counter 11. Pulses from time transmitters 5 and 6 are overlapped, and signal from output of AND gate 9 passes to complementing inputs of flip-flops 14 and 15. Positive potential on inverting output of flip-flop 14 indicates that vehicle moves in direction from first track pickup to the second one.
