FIELD: mechanical engineering; separation of paper sheets from pile. SUBSTANCE: paper pile is pressed to curved surface, pressure is applied to outer sheet of pile along line parallel to generatrix of curved surface and line of pressure application is shifted perpendicularly to generatrices of curved surface over entire length of pile and beyond the edges of sheets. Pressure force is selected to provide holding of sheets on curved surface and speed is maintained to separate sheets from pile pressed to curved surface one by one. Device has knock-off table, deformation cylinder, movable pressure means, pressure means displacement control devices, special arrangements to provide blowing air under edges of sheets to be freed, and knock off devices.
