FIELD: gas treatment. SUBSTANCE: method includes separating electrolyte into anolyte and catholyte with different pH values, absorption of acidic gases with catholyte followed by desorbing absorbed gas by anolyte. In this process, one of electrodes of electrolyzer is depolarized by gas resulting in releasing of the same gas on the other electrode, as depolarizer, hydrogen or oxygen being utilized.
