FIELD: automotive industry; accessories of front wheel drive cars. SUBSTANCE: mudguard has protective and mounting parts. Protective part is stepped, with variable thickness in trapezium cross section. Part of cutoff of upper base of rectangular trapezium limits the height of stiffening rib, and lower base is pointed towards splashes. Height C of rectangular variable section trapezium in direction of width of protective part changes within C= K-3K, where K is height of line of cutoff of upper base of cross section. Thickness B of lower section of protective part in longitudinal section is made variable, related with length M of protective part by ratio B/M=0.2-0.05. Outer side surface of protective part is made equidistant to outer side surface of car body, and mounting part of mudguard is made in form of cavity whose shape coincides with lower part of front wheel arch.
