FIELD: flaw detection of weld joints, warts or bevels. SUBSTANCE: method involves using of cassette which is loaded with several films of different sensitivity. Screen depth conforms to condition of double density of dark spots of film behind screen with respect to film above screen. When sensitivity of films which are separated with screen greatly differ in their sensitivity, more sensitive film is located behind screen. When difference is low, this film is located above screen. Number of films for loading cassette depends on ratio of total value of drop in depth of monitored object for separate films in given range of optical density. Depths of additional screens conform to condition of double density of optical density of film behind screen with respect to film above screen. This is achieved by means of tables or charts which are generated using exposition of cassette of corresponding different films and screens for wedge of step samples.
