METHOD FOR RESTORING FIRST FINGER WITH ADDITIONALLY MISSING ONE OR SEVERAL FINGERS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: stump of patient's metacarpal bone is displaces, while, simultaneously, forming back and palm blood-supplying peduncles. Metacarpal bone is mobilized in intermetacarpal space by separating interosseous muscles. Next transverse osteotomy is practised in proximal metaepiphysis region, followed by axial distraction of fragment to be transplanted, while, simultaneously, drawing aside first metacarpal bone. Thereupon, stump thus-distracted is transferred onto first finger stump, while replacing skin deficiency on elbow surface with II-shaped skin flap taken from first intermetacarpal space, said skin flap base being disposed within region of second metacarpal bone head. As regards skin deficiency on radius bone, it is replaced by skin autotransplant applied layer by layer. EFFECT: effective orthopedic method.
