FIELD: medicine; orthopedic stomatology. SUBSTANCE: first dentist must measure medio-distal and vestibulo-oral dimensions of clinical and anatomical necks of tooth, followed by grinding off in metered manner solid dental tissues and by forming preliminary shelf directly near gingival margin. Next shelf thus-formed must be lowered down to level of dentogingival sulcus. Groove is formed on dentin portion of shelf down to level of bottom of dentogingival sulcus, while remaining enamel portion is spalled off. EFFECT: accurate evaluation of volume of solid dental tissues to be ground off, thereby preventing traumata to tooth's gingiva, pulp and periodontium; better quality of dentures.
