FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: in high-speed vessel which has device for operating air cushion or propeller with cap for preventing air from getting into propeller disc installed along axis of rotation of the propeller and provided with wedge shaped stern portion of waterline cap is made four-angled in section by diametral plane. Stern edge of this section is inclined to main plane at an angle larger than that of inclination of bow edge. Section of waterline of cap at this edge is made wedge-shaped and is smoothly mated with wedge-shape stern section of cap waterline. Cap is made with cylindrical widening in stern portion along shaft line of propeller and it encloses stern part of the shaft. Width of cap cross section before propeller hub is equal to diameter of propeller hub. Stern part of cap is made movable relative to axis of turning of part of cap which lies in diametral plane. Axis of turning is oriented either vertically or at an angle to main plane. EFFECT: improved propulsive properties of vessels with air cavity on bottom. 3 cl, 7 dwg
