FIELD: shipbuilding; manufacture of fairings for inclined propeller shafts of high-speed ships with bottom gas cavities. SUBSTANCE: ship one or several propeller shafts, rudders and gas main for forming the gas cavities. Each propeller shaft is provided with bracket. Ship's bottom is provided with skegs and one or several transversal planing steps. Width of fairing at area where Propeller shaft extends from it is no less than 3.5 diameters of propeller shaft. After area of extension of shaft from fairing over section of its lengths of no less than 25% of distance from its end as far as point of intersection of propeller shaft axis surface of fairing, the width of fairing is selected at deflection within ±5% of its maximum width at point of intersection of propeller shaft with surface of fairing. Fairing may be extended beyond boundaries of propeller shaft bracket towards stern, thus simultaneously forming the fairing of propeller shaft bracket. Surface of this fairing may be intersected by rudder stock. The beginning of fairing may be at transversal planing step nearest to ship's stern; its height does exceeds height of this planing step at the beginning. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency at angle of drift; reduced hydrodynamic resistance of ship due to forming cavities. 4 cl, 23 dwg
