SUBSTANCE: apparatus for controlled cooling of wire heated during rolling process has working stations with coil layer, adjoining cooling area with at least one cooling zone, wire bundle forming mechanism with adjoining conveyor for wire bundles. Such embodiment allows cooling characteristics required for different wire batches to be provided due to modular construction of working stations, that may be modified on site, i.e. additional units may be used to selectively adjust cooling characteristics of wire.
