FIELD: equipment for rolling pieces after plants for continuous casting of steel. SUBSTANCE: plant for hot rolling of flat billets provides abnormality-free process for rolling thin strips in the result of joining one with another thin flat billets fed at least from two plants for continuous casting in order to guide endless material in lines for preliminary and for finish rolling. Apparatus for joining thin billets is arranged between tunnel furnaces placed just near plants for continuous casting and line for preliminary rolling. EFFECT: increased speed of guiding billets to rolling mill due to high-quality joints of heated pieces before preliminary rolling process. 6 cl, 2 dwg
