FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves compacting porous annular bimetallic billets through height to obtain porosity of 1-3%; deforming pack of compacted billets by upsetting, with material flowing to central part; obtaining porous billets by placing ring made from powder high-speed steel into open annular container so that porous ring is raised above container wall or by sintering powder of high-speed steel in open annular container made from constructional steel. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of billets. 4 dwg
