FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of oxidation of ethane to acetic acid which comprises feeding ethane and recycling ethane into reaction zone containing solid oxide catalyst fluidized bed and feeding molecular oxygen containing gas separately from ethane stream. In this ease the gas is first mixed with the main portion of hydrocarbon gases to be oxidized. The claimed method comprises stages of (1) oxidizing gaseous stream effluent from reaction zone, (2) separating greater amount of liquid acetic acid which contains almost all of carbon oxides formed from gaseous stream, (3) scavenging some amount of said gaseous stream and recycling greater amount of said gaseous stream through reactor containing feedstock. Said scavenging operation is intended for preventing accumulation of carbon oxides in reaction zone, and recycling is intended for maintaining high proportion of carbon oxides in reaction zone gases. These operations reduce the effect of temperature rise of highly exothermal reaction in reaction in reaction zone. EFFECT: more efficient oxidation method. 3 cl, 1 dwg
