SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of preparing solid catalyst component which is active in ethylene (co)polymerization and makes it possible to prepare ethylene copolymers having distribution from average to wide molecular weight and monomodal molecular weight distribution in one stage processes in suspension or gas phase. The solid catalyst comprises magnesium chlorine, silicon, titanium and at least other transition metal of granular and porous solid carrier and is prepared by treating acid carrier successively with metal compound selected from hafnium zirconium and vanadium, with dialkyl magnesium or alkyl magnesium halide, silicon chloride and titanium compound. EFFECT: improved properties of the solid catalyst component.
