FIELD: detection of material using atomic number. SUBSTANCE: device has accelerator of electrons, target which converts power of electrons into electromagnetic waves, unit which generates beam of electromagnetic waves of given cross section (beam collimator), two scintillation detectors of electromagnetic waves, which are located behind object to be investigated. Width of sensitive region of detectors is different, converting target is insulated and is connected to meter of charge of electrons which reach target. Signal which is output by detectors is normalized by signal from meter of charge of electrons which reach converting target. Signal ratio from detector determines atomic number of material of object under investigation. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 3 dwg
