FIELD: storage of vegetables, fruits and other biological objects. SUBSTANCE: method involves separate loading of objects of different kinds into containers; sealing containers; providing gaseous medium of predetermined composition. During loading, containers are grouped into batches and block of containers is formed from each batch. Volume of block of containers corresponds to volume of gas in one gas balloon. Charging and repeated dosing of gases is performed so that concentration of carbon dioxide is less than allowable value by 5-10%. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified method and improved quality of fruits or other biological objects.
