FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the field of agricultural goods storage in controlled gas medium and may be used, in particular, in the technology to store potatoes in standard potato warehouses, farming enterprises. The method to store potatoes in the controlled gas medium is carried out by means of preliminary treatment of potato tubers with 0.2% alcohol solution of sorbic acid in a tight polyethylene reservoir. The reservoir comprises an inlet valve and is equipped with a combined valve to monitor gas medium and to control it by removal of excessive amount of carbonic acid, maintaining storage temperature at 4±1°C and relative air moisture at 90±3%.
EFFECT: method and device for its realisation help to preserve potatoes, eliminate chances of rot formation and make it possible to reduce losses of nutrients with simultaneous preservation of tuber condition.
