FIELD: mechanical engineering; load banding. SUBSTANCE: metal band with lock for binding the articles is flexible packing band with number of shaped cutouts on ends forming projections and recesses getting one into the other when ends of band are overlapped. Extreme links of shaped cutouts exposed to maximum load are made in form of equilateral trapeziums whose smaller base is directed to ends of band at angle of 8-13 degrees relative to central axis of link, thus increasing band cross area working in breaking. Changing of trapezium to parallel section of cutout is directed at angle of 65 degrees relative to vertical axis of link which increases reliability of link catching. Middle links of shaped cutouts are made in form of equilateral trapeziums with larger bases. Central link is made in form of split projections on upper and lower ends of band which thrust one against the other owing to longitudinal reverse movement of band, thus fixing the lock in closed position.
