FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reuse of metallurgical waste which may be converted into charge material through briquetting in cast iron and steel production. Briquetting process includes mixing dross with finely crushed carbon- containing material and binding agent, pressing, and drying. Dross is preliminarily ground, mixed with powder-like carbon-containing substance in amount 15-60% (on conversion to carbon) based on dross weight. As binding agent, mixture is used composed of (in wt %): alumina, 2-8; calcium carbonate, 3-9; sodium carbonate, 15-37; borax, 3-26; electric furnace gas purification dust, 2-10; silica, the balance. The thus prepared charge is treated with Na2O•n•SiO2 aqueous solution. EFFECT: increased fullness of reusing metallurgical waste.
