FIELD: production of carbon films. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparing films applicable in medicine, optics, and microelectronics. Biocarbon is made of layer-forming linear carbon chains oriented normally to layer surface and associated into hexagonal tightly packed structures with distances between carbon chains 4.8-5.03 . All layers are identical and statistically shifted in relation to each other. Biocarbon is prepared as follows. Graphite is vaporized in vacuum and compensated current-free initial clouds of carbon plasma are created. Inert gas ion stream is formed and directed perpendicularly to stream of above- mentioned clouds followed by condensation of carbon in the form of biocarbon structure. Apparatus contains vacuum chamber enclosing carbon main-discharge cathode, main-discharge anode, ignition electrode, secondary-discharge cathode, dielectric insertion, ionic emission source, and support holder; power source; condenser; and inductance.
