BUCKET-WHEEL EXCAVATOR Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: earth-excavating machinery. SUBSTANCE: this excavator can be used in mining and other industries and it possesses wide technological potentialities in developing ore deposits of complex structural setup. Bucket-wheel excavator has running gear, turntable with superstructure which carries boom with bucket-wheel. Buckets are provided with walls and cutting perimeter. Also provided is receiving conveyer with receiving hopper. Bucket-wheel is connected with boom by means of holder secured to boom. Holder has upper and lower cheeks with bucket-wheel installed horizontally between them. Each bucket has discharge opening in one of its walls. If discharge opening is made in lower wall, lower cheek of holder is provided with locking apron. Discharge openings can be provided with movable shutter with its operating mechanism. Depending on earth characteristics, discharge openings are made in lower or side walls of buckets. Lower part of cutting perimeter of bucket is located below its lower wall. Lower cheek of holder and part of boom adjacent to bucket-wheel have discharge openings located one above other, thus creating charging hopper above receiving bin. In addition, receiving conveyer depending on sloping angle of cutting face can be installed in vertical plane at angle to longitudinal axis of boom and connected to its end by means of rigid links. This excavator is adapted to successive cutting of interlayers of minerals in development of structurally complex deposits. EFFECT: high efficiency. 6 cl, 3 dwg
