FIELD: medicine, virology. SUBSTANCE: carrier is treated with virus-specific protein, incubated at +4 C, protein excess is washed out and the obtained immunosorbent is dried. Carrier: polymeric carrier; virus-specific protein: protein produced by recombinant strain E. coli in the form of solution at concentration 0.5-5 mcg/ml. The treated carrier is incubated for 1-24 h and after washing out and drying the carrier is treated additionally with 10% solution of cleared cattle serum or 5-7% solution of defatted milk. EFFECT: simplified method, enhanced sensitivity of assay of antibodies raised to hepatitis C virus, prolonged storage of immunosorbent (above 6 months).
