FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: current transformer has support insulator 1 carrying spherical metal body 2 with cylinder 3 for passing turns of primary winding 4. Annular secondary windings 5 (internal) and 6 (external) are placed inside body 2 concentrically to cylinder 3 and to each other and secured by means of insulating member 7. Ratio of general axial dimensions of external-to-internal secondary windings is within 0.6+-0.1. Such ratio found by calculations ensures maximum filling (70-80%) of space confined within insulating distances between secondary windings placed at ground potential and body placed at high voltage. This ratio is valid for insulating distances and radial dimensions of external and internal secondary windings. Each contact 9a is connected to one of (W-1)n conductors of primary winding 4(W is number of winding turns; n is number of parallel conductors per turn) located outside spherical part of body 2; each contact 9b and respective contact 9c are connected to one of parallel conductors of first and last turns of primary winding. Jumpers 10 function to provide for series connection of external and internal conductors of primary winding and its forming turns as well as connection of first and last turns to leads 11 of primary winding. Insulating boards 8 carrying contacts 9,9a,9b, and 9 cover, respectively, three concentric circles may be placed outside of body 2. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 5 dwg
